Help with my set up

  • Newbie to the solar power world.

I have the Eco Worthy 10.7KWH. 2400W, 48V solar panel kit with 5000W inverter, and 4 of the 48V 100AH LifeP04 batteries. I bought 2 of the batteries initially, then the other 2 later. This system is only for my RV that Ihave parked on my property in remote AZ. We only use the RV for wekends, maybe twice a month. The system is left on when we are not there, just running the refrigerator to keep the system active. The area we have the RV parked in AZ, is sort of in the mountains..So it gets in the 90's during the summer, but relativly miled the rest of the year. The loads are not high most of the time. In fact, just lights (LED) , TV, Refrigerator, maybe a fan or two...etc.

When I first hooked up the system and let it charge, with 2 batteries..I was able to run the AC for 8 hours. So, I fugured to be safe, 2 more batteries. That way, I could run the AC longer if need be, and still have power left over.

So, the first time I hooked up 4 batteries, the RV ran fine. As soon as I started the AC, the inverter shut down. It ran fine with 2 batteries, then shuts down with 4? I forget the code, but looking it up back then, it said battery voltage. All 4 bats showing good voltage, so I dont know why. I took two of the batteries off line, AC ran fine. The switched to the other 2 batteries, it ran fine again. Only when 4 are hooked up do I get the fault. So, I run off two batteries now. Since summer is over, I dont need 4 batteries. Now comes another issue. I run the RV all day, no issues. About 4 or 5am, the inverter shuts down. Fault code 4. It will not come back on for a couple of hours, until the sun comes up. The battery voltage is showing good. I reached out to customer service. They keep telling me one of the battery voltage is bad. I explain how I have swithed pairs...Etc. Still same issue. SO, this week, I am going to the property to spend time on the system. My plan is to add a buss bar for each side. One for Neg, one for Pos. Plan to do just 2 batteries for now, then add the other two later. I am also leaning on installing a battery equalizer. I am not sure yet how to add that with a buss bar.

So, I guess I would ask if anyone has ideas on the following:

    1. Why would the inverter shut down with 4 batteries when the AC comes on, but will work ok with 2 batteries for 8 hours?

    2. Why does the system shut down in the middle of the night, with 75% to 80% full batteries?

    3. How do I hook up a balancer with 2 or 4 batteries using a buss bar, and still maintain parallel hook up?

Thank you in advance for any information you may have.
