I'm trying to put two Eco Worthy 150Ah batteries in parallel, but the ground wire keeps getting too hot to the touch. Wondering how I should proceed.

Your connections don't look tight. Also make sure the wire lugs mate together properly. Check how the lug sits on the battery terminal it must be flat contacting the entire surface. Positive parallel cable is upside down maybe flip it over and move to the top of the other cable.
It seems your network is loose. Check the wire lugs' snugness. Assure the lug is flat and touches the entire battery terminal. Try flipping the positive parallel cable and placing it on top of the other.
