FAQ

FAQ

Q1:What is a server rack battery?

A1: It’s a battery that can be installed directly into a server rack, saving floor space with vertical mounting. These batteries are typically highly expandable and offer advanced communication features.

Q3:What is a shunt-trip?

A3: A shunt-trip is an accessory for a circuit breaker. It’s controlled by the battery management system (BMS). In certain extreme fault situations, the BMS sends a signal to the shunt-trip, which then triggers the breaker to shut off—completely isolating the battery for increased electrical safety.

Q5: Why choose lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4)?

A5: LiFePO4 is one of the safest lithium battery chemistries available—it won’t catch fire, even in extreme conditions. It also offers excellent cycle life and charging performance, making it ideal for energy storage applications.

Q7: Can the battery be expanded? Why?

A7: Yes, you can expand capacity by connecting multiple batteries in parallel. ECO-WORTHY 48V (51.2V) 100AH Server Rack Battery supports communication between units, allowing them to work together efficiently when connected and share data for smooth operation.

Q9: How do I connect the battery via Bluetooth?

A9: First, download the app (scan the QR code in the quick start guide).

Power on the battery, enable Bluetooth on your phone, and launch the app.

Search for the battery in the app and connect via Bluetooth.

Q2:What’s the cycle life of  the battery, and what does that mean?

A2: ECO-WORTHY 48V (51.2V) 100AH Server Rack Battery has over 6,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge (DOD). This means the battery can be charged and discharged 6,000 times, using up to 80% of its capacity each cycle.

Q4:How do I determine how many batteries I need?

A4: First, figure out how much power you’ll need during a complete power outage, and estimate how long the outage could last. Multiply the outage duration (hours) by the total power consumption of your devices (watts) to get the required total battery capacity (watt-hours).
Then, divide this number by the capacity of one server rack battery (5,120Wh) to get the number of batteries needed. If you get a decimal,

it’s best to round up to the next whole number to ensure you have enough capacity.

Q6: What is battery communication?

A6: Battery communication is managed by the built-in BMS (Battery Management System). ECO-WORTHY 48V (51.2V) 100AH Server Rack Battery supports several communication protocols—RS485, CAN, and RS232—for wired connections to inverters, computers, or third-party monitoring modules. It also supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so you can easily check battery status via a mobile app.

Q8:What are DIP switches?

A8: DIP switches are small, binary switches used to configure each battery’s unique ID within a group. By setting the six switches, you assign an orderly number to each battery—helping keep communication organized and data accurate across the battery bank.
