Rack V3 30kw

Was easy to assemble.
Wish outer screen came with it.

Registering product is difficult.
Can't seem to do it from the app.

Overall, 6 batteries hooked in parallel and are up and running in a few hours.

Great batteries and a great rack (with a few minor issues)

Sorry, I think I posted this for the battery charger. It was intended for the battery rack.

OK, I bought two of these racks along with 12 batteries (one directly from Eco-Worthy and the other from Amazon). Both arrived quickly with no shipping damage.
The "manual" does not contain any assembly instructions. It only lists torque specs for each screw size. There are four different sizes (4mm, 5mm, 6mm, and 8mm) and six different types of screws:
- two sizes of flat head phillips drive
- one size of pan-head phillips drive
- three sizes of hex bolts with phillips drive
The YouTube video is the only instructions you get. Sometimes you can tell which screw to use from the video. But, if you are in the garage trying to view the video on your phone it's nearly impossible. So, I had to use good judgment in a lot of places. After watching the video on my computer, I see that I guessed right on most of the screws. But, I got a couple wrong...on the bottom...after installing the batteries. So, I'm contemplating if it's serious enough to remove all the batteries and install the correct screws (hex bolts instead of flat head Phillips drive screws).
Here are some of the issues that I ran into:
- Holes did not always line up and some force was required.
- It's absolutely absurd to specify torque specs for Phillips drive screws because the bit will cam-out before the proper torque is achieved. Use Torx or socket hex drive screws instead.
- I did not find any use for some of the screws (the small size hex head and the pan head screws) and there are a lot of leftovers.
- None of the screws provided were adequate for mounting the LED light brackets. All (including the pan-head screws) were too tall. There was a packet included with the light fixture that contained two dry-wall anchors and two wood screws. These cannot be used to attach the LED light brackets. So, I purchased appropriate screws from my local hardware store.
- I found two lengths for the 8mm hex head screws. All but four of them were long. I used two of the short ones to attach something in the front (a clue I could see from the video with great difficulty). I suspect the other two belong on the bottom where I used flat head screws.
Assembling the second rack went a lot smoother now that I know where all the screws go :). I did run into a few new issues:
1. I was unable to line up the holes while mounting side B to the bottom. It seemed like something was in the way preventing the two parts to mate properly. Sure enough, there was. The top and bottom are made up from folded sheet-metal. And, the seam where the corners meet is welded. All of the welding looks absolutely perfect. I would guess they are laser welded. But, this particular weld wasn't done so well. There was a bunch of excess bead on the inside of the joint. I had to use a hand-held die grinder with a carbide burr bit to cut away the excess material. I admit, my skills are not so good free-handing a die grinder but I was successful in removing the blob and the parts now fit together without any problem.
2. The door panel had a dent in the edge near the upper hinge. It did not affect proper function of the door and it was easy to straighten it out with heavy duty pliers. Sill a little wavy, and a bit scuffed by the pliers but not a problem for me. This definitely did not happen in shipping because the packaging provides an overabundance of protection. It was this way from the factory.
3. I encountered a couple of things when I installed the batteries.
a. The right hand buss bar was installed upside down on the first rack. The right hand buss bar on the second rack wasn't even attached. Both issues were easily fixed.
b. The stand-offs used to mount the buss bars are too tall. The covers no longer fit after attaching the cables. This presents a potential safety issue. I think the buss bars should be covered. So, I will look for some shorter stand-offs for the buss bar so that the covers can be installed properly. Perhaps Eco-Worthy could send some?
Everything else went very smoothly. In spite of some assembly issues and a few defects I think these battery racks are a great value and I have no problem recommending them to someone who has basic mechanical skills and a desire to save some money. I have no doubt that the racks can easily hold 600+ lbs of batteries. And so far the batteries are performing perfectly. The video is completely inappropriate for assembly instructions. It moves from step to step way too fast to figure out what to do. There are no close-ups to show what screw is being used. Titles overlap each other making it difficult to read. Three minutes and 23 seconds is WAY TOO SHORT! I look forward to seeing some printed instructions that show each step and what screw to use.

Thanks!
